Easy Fundraising Ideas

School Fundraising

One of the best ways of raising money for a school’s needs is by launching a school fund raising campaign.  The most common method used especially in public schools is collecting newspapers, bottles, cans, and magazines to be sold.  The proceeds will then be used in renovating a school premise, replacing old equipment or in buying new textbooks for the students.

However, there are more creative ways to start a school fundraising.  New and more exciting ideas can be executed with planning and preparation.  The first thing to do should be to organize a committee who will lead the event.  Both students and teachers can be chosen as a committee member.  Afterwards, deliberation can be done as to what kind of fund raising it would be along with other preparations.

Before actually launching the fund raising event, the committee should be clear about the concept of their fundraising project.  What is the main goal of the program?  Is it in association with a certain celebration, perhaps a school anniversary or a victory celebration for the students who won a competition?  The chosen theme of the fundraising event would determine other elements of the program.

After deciding about the concept of the fund raising project, the committee can now decide whether they would sell items, sell services, or organize a festivity.  Everyone in the committee can freely give his own suggestion.  What kind of products would be sold for the fund raising event?  If the committee decides to sell products, an important thing to consider would be where to buy the items to be sold.  On the other hand, if the committee decides to offer services, who would volunteer to provide them?

If the fundraising program would be done through a school presentation, then the committee must decide on what kind of presentation it would be, who would be the participants, who would lead in the rehearsals, and how the tickets would be sold.  Possible presentations would be a play, a singing or dancing competition, choral group presentation or a talent show.

Although the committee plays the major responsibility in organizing and overseeing the event, everyone can do his share for the success of the event.  After all the preparations had been done, promoting the fund raising program to the people is a crucial part of the fund raising project.  All teachers, students, and parents can help in encouraging other people to support the school fund raising program.
