Taking a fundraising job at non-profit organizations and charities is somehow like a commitment to social and non-profit causes. You should understand that such groups heavily rely on alms and donations. The proceeds they generate from various fundraising events are allotted to implementing and launching social and charitable projects and initiatives. Usually, workers and volunteers at such endeavors are openly agreeing to render services without expecting something in return.

If you want to volunteer and take part in such humanity goals, it would be more advisable if you would have other sources of living. It would be wise if you would keep your regular earning job and only allocate part time to the charity work. This way, you would not have a hard time coping with lack of funds. Otherwise, if you have no other sources of income, you may end up being among the beneficiaries of the charities, which is not a likely idea.

Also, take note that the job descriptions and requirements at fund raising jobs are truly hectic and are too rigorous. Fundraising activities are normally tedious. There is so much to take care of, from the basic arrangements on permits, venues, allocations and capital expenditures. Promotions and awareness campaigns would also be a demanding factor. You should be prepared to take the necessary measures and preparations before finally joining. Getting into fund raising jobs is somehow a form of commitment. It would simply be not ethical to just leave when you realize that the job is demanding too much of your attention and efforts.

As volunteers, you should also take note of ethics in the workplace. Though you would not be totally compensated for services you render, you should remember that you are still expected to act in utmost ethics. Act and behave as if you are in your regular workplace. As a volunteer, you should bear in mind that fundraising efforts could only work better if the people behind the initiative are all cooperative and are willing to cope up. Fundraising jobs are noble as well.
