Elementary School Fundraising

Elementary school fund raising is a way to raise funds, which can be used for the benefit of elementary students.  The ideas used in an elementary fund raising may be different from that of a high school, college, sports or non-profit organization fund raising.

One of the first concerns when launching a fund raising project is organizing the committee who will handle the tasks.  Since the fund raising project would involve several tasks, it is important to organize teams with their team leaders to ensure that the functions will be properly executed.

Another important concern in fund raising is the products that will be used in the project.  Members of the organizing committees should be able to give their suggestions.  The main goal of a fund raising is to sell products or services in order to earn money for the project.  Thus, what products or services to sell should be given careful consideration.

Students have a big part in the success of any fund raising project.  The students will be the one to do the selling so it is important that they be given pointers on how to offer products or encourage people to support the project.  Teachers should conduct sessions or meeting with the students to help them understand the products or services they will be selling.

Students should be reminded not to use hype just to make a sale.  They should never make claims about the product that is not true just to convince people to buy.  Students should not force anyone to buy either although they should do their best to let people know why buying the products would be a great help.

One example of an elementary school fund raising idea is the cookie dough fundraiser.  This is where everyone all students of the school are requested to participate in a talent competition.  Teachers and parents of the students are encouraged to join in the program as well by sharing their own talents.  Various acts such as individual singing, dancing, group dance, duets, choral singing, acting, a play and other numbers can be performed.  Tickets for this event will be sold for a fee to raise money.  Selling tickets at least a month in advance will enable people to prepare for the event.  Snacks and beverages can also be sold for additional earnings.  This type of fund raising is not only an effective means of raising funds, it is also a fun event that everyone can enjoy.
