Catholic School Fundraising

Catholic schools provide the proper education that teaches children different virtues in life other non-catholic schools give less attention to. Unfortunately, they lack the resources needed for delivering sufficient and quality education to the children. That is why catholic school fund raising programs existed to sustain the needs of the school.

Most donations come from the school members in the form of “pledge cards”. Each member, both employees and the student’s family, are entitled to a pledge card to raise funds for different school causes. Every month, these cards, together with the donations, are collected by the accounting department and finally forwarded to the pledge fund department. Parishioners also partake in this kind of fund raising campaign, of course, especially for catholic schools.

In some cases, business establishments tie up with a certain catholic school to participate in their fund raising campaign. Let us take for example a grocery store. Every customer that regularly shops in their store will be given “reward cards”. They will be given certain incentives every time they shop and a percentage from the total amount of purchase goes to the linked catholic school fund raising group. This is very being supportive since the profit is being divided to contribute to a catholic school’s development cause.

Students from the catholic schools also give their full support in their fund raising activity by doing the “Marathon Pledge”. It is performed every season as one of their catholic fund raising events. They join the marathon walk around the neighborhood and collect pledges. Families in each house are touched by these young kids’ spirits to volunteer for the benefit of their school. As a result, donors give enough amounts or even higher than what they have expected.

Sponsorships also come from well-off families or individuals who are charitable enough to help catholic school fund raising campaigns. “Adopt-a-Student Fund” is a program where a donor “adopts” a student and pays for everything the student needs at school including school supplies, tuition fees and daily allowance. That also means the student “adopted” is 100% donor-dependent. This is really an amazing way of helping children especially in education for most people believe that it the most integral part of our society and the most essential of all other concerns.

In giving donations, donors often think about the real benefit of the money they will be giving a specific civic group, school or organization. They wanted their money to be very useful and well utilized to benefit not only one person but the entire group. Catholic schools are surviving because of the heart-warming gifts from the people who made wise decisions with their blessings.

Catholic school fund raising will continue and will find other methods and programs on how to support their cause. These children’s education is our concern and as a loving parent, we would do everything to give them quality education and enjoy our children’s childhood days.
